About Insolita Travels

Based in Sicily, Insolita Travels is a specialized tour operator dedicated to creating unique trips and tailor-made travel experiences across Sicily and Southern Italy. Our vision is to redefine tourism by moving away from mass-market clichés and focusing on a "New Travel Concept": one that is personal, authentic, and deeply connected to the local territory. We constantly evolve to preserve the natural and human resources so that future generations of both locals and travellers can continue to enjoy them.

Our mission is to support a sustainable and fair travel industry through "Style & Authenticity". We provide our travellers with honest, local experiences that promote cultural and environmental immersion. By working closely with our local partners, we strive to minimize negative impacts on the environment while increasing sustainability awareness throughout the entire travel chain.

1. Sustainability Management
We integrate sustainability into our operations through:

• Dedicated Coordinator: A designated manage our action plans and corrective measures.
• Strategic Planning: We follow a clear roadmap to monitor and evaluate our sustainability targets.
• Transparency: We ensure full transparency through public reporting and by keeping our staff fully informed and committed to our Sustainability Policy.
• Ethical Operations: We strictly comply with all national and EU legislation, refraining from promoting destinations we consider unsustainable.

2. Social Policy & Human Rights
We foster a fair and safe workplace by:

• Labor Rights: Guaranteeing freedom of employment, fair notice periods, and strict adherence to Italian labour standards and minimum age in compliance with the tourism national labour contract “Contratto Nazionale del Lavoro”.
• Safety First: Providing first aid kits and regular training on emergency procedures, ensuring a secure environment for all employees.
• Equal Opportunity: Prohibiting all forms of discrimination in recruitment and promotion, ensuring every employee has an equal chance for personal and professional development within the company.

• Authentic Traditions: We promote experiences that celebrate the soul of Sicily and South Italy —such as wine and food traditions, visits to artisanal workshops, and encounters with local producers who practice sustainable agriculture.
• Local expertise: We work with certified and official local guides, tour leaders, assistants and drivers in collaboration with workers' associations, ensuring they work in a fair, safe, and respectful environment.
• Lesser-Known Areas: To prevent "over-tourism" in popular hubs, we also encourage the exploration of hidden gems and alternative destinations across Sicily and South Italy.
• Animal Welfare: We maintain a strict policy against any activity that involves the exploitation or mistreatment of animals.

• Before You Travel: Information about our travel product is always clear by providing customers with a complete information regarding prices, services.
• On the Road: We provide in-depth information about the local culture, traditions, and natural surroundings. A dedicated contact person is available 24/7 for any emergency situation during the trip.
• Customer Satisfaction: We monitor clients’ satisfaction during planning and booking and after the trip. We provide for a compulsory travel contract with terms and conditions "Condizioni Genarli di Contratto" that includes traveller guarantees and duty in accordance of the Italian
  and European legislation.
